Gatorworks

As the president and founder of Gatorworks, a Baton Rouge-based digital marketing firm, Brian Rodriguez wanted a refined office space to better suit the growing company’s young and creative culture. After deciding to rehouse the Gatorworks office in a 1980s Acadian-style office complex, he asked TIEK BYDAY for help reimagining and enlivening the space. This was Bridget, Cindy, and Hance's first collaboration together back in 2017. After the success of the first renovation, TIEK BYDAY worked with Gatorworks to expand the office again in 2020.

While the new Gatorworks location offered plenty of natural sunlight and great views of a lake behind the property, it was outdated with poorly defined spaces. The end goal was to create a visually arresting, functional office space that conveyed a high-energy atmosphere and appealed to both employees and clients alike. Having been brought into the project from the outset, we were able to develop preliminary space plans, completely rearranging the existing floor plan and bringing in additional portions of the space that were not part of the original layout.

To develop interior concepts that reflected the company culture, we incorporated key colors from existing artwork into paint finishes, flooring, and tile. The artwork was complemented by playful, pop-art-style wallpaper in strategic spots, helping to delineate areas throughout the workspace. Although workday comfort and functionality drove furniture selections, we used retro-inspired shapes and bold upholstery finishes to create a cohesive end result.

The finished project was a successful design project, from both an aesthetic and a collaborative perspective. As Gatorworks president Brian Rodriguez reflected, “TIEK BYDAY took our space to the next level. They listened well to our general ideas and worked closely with the contractor. We trusted their process. When we moved into the new space, there was a tangible positive difference I noticed with our team. The new office is a place our group enjoys going to each morning.”
